Mixed Media Adventures

Good Monday Morning People (You know who you are ;o)  ) Pictures attached of two of my mixed media canvases.  The one on the bottom right  I did in a Finnabair class last December.  I flew down to Timaru and did the class at Artfull Crafts.  It was fantastic and something I had been wanting to get into for a long time but didn't know where to start. The lady in the photo is my Mum.  So now I felt I wanted to do one of my Husband's Mum too.  Both ladies died many years ago (see dates on the canvases) so quite an emotional journey making these.  I just finished the second one yesterday and I am happy with the finished result having had no guidance from anyone this time.  Just a beginner at this Mixed Media thing.  Only a few steps along the road but I am loving it.  I have learned a lovely saying( whilst watching many tutorials on line)  THERE ARE NO MISTAKES IN ART.  I am somewhat guilty of throwing away and starting over again but I am trying to incorporate the saying into my crafting life and turn mistakes into Happy Accidents :o) . Have a lovely week and thanks for looking.

Monday, May 9, 2016

I have just looked at my Blog for the first time in Forever and by coincidence it is EXACTLY one year ago today since my last post !!! A lot has happened in my life since then and since the only person who ever seemed to look at and certainly the only person to ever comment on my posts was my good friend Ali,with all the other things which needed attention my Blog fell into darkness. I often e-mail photos of my work to Ali so she is up with what's going on n my life. Today Ali told me she had met with her sister-in-law over the weekend and she was asking if I was alright as I hadn't posted anything on my blog for ages.  Ali explained and said that as no one else seemed interested in my Blog it had taken a back seat and as often happens gets forgotten altogether. Ali's sister-in-law said "Well I'm interested and I miss seeing her posts" How nice is that??  It certainly gave me the Warm Fuzzies.  So here I am dredging the depths of my brain to try to remember how to write a post and upload photos to my Blog. I think I have cracked the text part but am still searching how to do the photos.  So this post and the following photos of projects over the last months are for you Doreen and THANK YOU for caring :o)
